Dr. Murphy is a family physician who places an emphasis on preventive medicine. He specializes in treating patients over age two whose conditions range from mild trauma to serious illness or injury. He is on staff at both Arizona hospitals of John C. Lincoln Health Network—John C. Lincoln Deer Valley Hospital and John C. Lincoln North Mountain Hospital—as well as other Valley hospitals.

A native of Canada, Dr. Murphy earned his medical degree from the University of Ottawa Medical School in 1968. He relocated to Arizona in 1981 where he established his family practice while serving as the team physician for professional football and hockey teams.

Dr. Murphy is a member of the American Medical Association, the Arizona Academy of Family Physicians, and the Maricopa County Medical Society. He is also a charter member of the American Society of Sports Medicine.
